I am looking for a plastics machining house to quote a part we need to have machined from black PEEK material.
Black Peek machining is a good choice in high performance applications, please submit a drawing and we will be happy to quote you on this project.
We are designing a test cell for soil testing instrument. This cell will have a window in order to view what is going on inside, and it will be pressurized to up to 60 psi. The soil testing in question is very sensitive to volume change, so we have designed a dual-paned window with the test cell and window void under the same pressure. We are hoping you can give us some help on designing and making the window portion of the apparatus. Please find a drawing attached with the major test cell parts. We are civil engineers, and need your input on this design.
Consider acrylic as a material with good light transmittance.
We are working on a plastic part for a rotor blade. We currently use extruded Ultem 2100 for these types of applications, but due to the complexity of this part it would need to be either injection-molded or machined. Initially, this would be for a relatively low-volume order so I think that a machined piece of Ultem 2100 (or 2400 if possible) would be more cost-effective than a molding. Please see the attached step file to view the part.
Ultem 2400 is not available as an extrusion grade, try Ultem 2300.
I'm looking for only 1-2 pieces each of these two parts for prototype development. The material was originally envisioned to be "smoked plexiglass" but I'm told that machining acrylic may be too difficult. The fallback would be lexan, or perhaps another material that you suggest. I'm an electronics engineer - don't know much about plastic machining.
Acrylic is very easy to machine and smoke color is readily available in a number of shades. Lexan is another good choice but more expensive and a less scratch resistant. Less availability of colors as well.
We are a marine ladder manufacturer and have developed a telescoping ladder for the Inflatable boat industry. I am looking for plastic flanged bushing to install in the lower ends of the stainless steel telescoping tubes. We will need three different sizes. We have not determined the best material but we are leaning towards black Delrin. Please recommend the best material and provide quote for precision machining.
Black Delrin is a good choice for marine applications. Please provide a print for plastic machining.
We are looking to have the ID/OD Threaded Plastic Nut quoted per the attached drawing. It will serve as a drive nut in a telescoping actuation device, so although the engineer did not specify the material, we were hoping you could suggest one. We were thinking Delrin, Acetal or something similar.
Delrin is a good choice for plastic parts. It is low cost with reasonable performance and good chemical resistance. It is one of the most popular materials for plastic machining.
Please review the attached drawing. Although metal is specified, we were hoping to use a plastic polymer that could meet these specifications:
-Temperature range -18 deg C to 52 degrees C,
-Sunlight immunity 8.5kW-hrs/square meter/day
-Solar UV immunity 1000W/square meter/day
-Humidity 0% to 100%
We welcome your suggestions for the best possible material for our device.
Interesting plastic machining opportunity. Please call to discuss further.
I need a material recommendation for a piston we are using in a fuel pressure regulator. Then a price for plastic fabrication.
Please provide more information on the type of fuel that will be utilized, to help us in plastic material selection.
Please advise us, can the attached fluidic manifold be made out of nylatron?
Nylatron for a fluidic manifold is not very common. Please provide your operating characteristics and we can offer fluidic design assistance.
I am a junior mechanical engineering student looking to pursue a career in precision plastic manufacturing. I am currently in an internship and researching various materials to use in a fixturing project. I am looking for some samples of various plastic materials. Is there any way I could get a selection of materials offered?
We have lots of sample plastic parts. What type are you looking for specifically?
I am looking to find a plastic fabricator to source some pump parts for us that are clear, so people may see how our pumps work. I've attached a drawing of one part, the pump housing. I am not particular about the material you recommend, so long as it does not change dimensions when compressed between the mating cap and stand, and can tolerate the potential for some interference with the pump gears.
Your best choice will be polycarbonate or acrylic, both vapor polish well for good transparency.
I would like a price quote on the attached component. It's 1/8 in thick. I am currently sourcing it in aluminum, but it's proving to be too expensive to produce in the States. I would like to keep it in the <
